Last year, I finally moved into a place with an outdoor patio! I was so excited and searched for things to fill the space. However, the indoor rooms needed a bit more attention so instead I worked on those spaces. Also, I found myself spending a great deal of time at the pool and less emphasis on the patio resulted.
However, 2015 is a new year and I’d really love to make that space an extension of my living space. Here is a concept photo as well as a sketch of the space:
It’s not a huge space but I think I can maximize it’s potential :)
A before photo…a little sad at the moment but the weeds are gone!
I already purchased this great little wrought iron folding table at Target…awesome b/c of size and portability…but i need chairs…
Love the Parisian bistro chairs!
This chaise/daybed from C&B would really make the space. Extra seating for guests but a great place for me to curl up with my ipad and get inspired…I hope I can make this happen :)
I love how colorful (and affordable) outdoor area rugs are! This is a great option to bring in my blue color scheme…
Fun patterns, yes?!
If I have space for this; I would love a little extra room to bring the bar outdoors…
The rest is all fun entertaining ideas!
I’ll keep you posted on the progress! Happy Decorating!!
I don’t know about you but after the holiday decorations get packed up, I quickly realize that I need (read: want) new furniture. I’m on the hunt for a new sofa, specifically, and in typical designer fashion, there are too many styles which I love.
You may also be as challenged as I am to blend different design styles and in need of a little inspiration. So, I decided to explore a few of my favorites along with other dream pieces to determine which direction I can take my living room (& yours!). Hope this gets your journey started! Feel free to visit me at Stash Home to make your dream a reality (or to vote on my sofa choice!).

As you know, I was asked to assist a homeowner in decorating her home for the Webster Groves Holiday House Tour this year and I am positively ecstatic at how her house turned out, especially this knockout of a dining room! Who wouldn’t want to host a dinner party in this space?
Here are the before photos…we had a great palette to start with and unique features like her carved table and antique chandelier.
Her dining room table is complemented by a beautiful buffet with silver accents. Immediately, we thought of doing a gilded metallic theme for this room.
We went shopping for a few items and we also raided her china cabinet to set the dining room table…
Luckily, she had beautiful gold rimmed glassware and plates and they looked great with the silver accents, like the stunning Smith & Hawken wreath from Target! We also added a crisp white runner and napkins (great deals at Pottery Barn) while moving her existing runner to the buffet.
One of the days we were decorating, it started snowing huge fluffy snowflakes which really put us in the holiday mood since it was still 2 weeks until Thanksgiving!
We wanted something spectacular for the dining room centerpiece and I really just fell in love with this concept. When our floral designer for the tour fell through; I was able to call on Patti Porter of Rusted Chandelier to make me a fabulous arrangement in a hurry! Here’s our concept photo…
And here’s the amazing arrangement by Rusted Chandelier! It really makes the room!
Here are photos of the completed room! Love how it turned out!
For the buffet, we used her original linen table runner and added Mercury elements, lovely silver reindeer, pine cones along with leftover pine roping and battery LED lights.
Some close-ups of the table settings & centerpiece…
We added a bit of glitter ribbon, ornaments & gilded chargers to complete the look…
Huge thank you to Julie Tesson of Tesson Interiors for helping with this project and for all who came out for the tour! Happy Holidays & Happy Decorating!
