Top 5 Fall Color Trends 2015

Do you love color as much as I do?  Whether you are painting a whole room or adding in an accent piece, these colors are sure to wow you this fall season!

1. Indigo – This deep blue hue has captured our attention for the last couple of years and it’s still going strong.  Love the intensity!

2. Blush Pink – This color is so “hot” right now and works so well as a neutral, it’s a wonder we haven’t seen it sooner.  It’s also very on trend with the fashion world.  (Is anyone else obsessed with the Kate Spade blush bags?)

3. Charcoal Gray – If you were tired of the “50 Shades of Gray” puns, you’re out of luck.  Gray tones (in velvet, especially) are seeing a resurgence this fall and are sure to make you fall in love again!

4.  Hot Pink – The more energized big sister of “blush”, this hue is equally on trend right now.  Incorporating it in the right way takes a room to the next level…are you up for it? :)

Fall 2015 Design Trends

I love the fall, for a variety of reasons, one of which is new furniture introductions and design trends. This is the time to get ready for colder temps and indoor family gatherings and, for lots of people, an opportunity to make your house into a home before the holidays.

So, here’s a look at a few things that are dominating the marketplace right now.  Would love to help you incorporate into your home!

1. “Aged” Rugs  – why invest in a rug until it has ‘worn the test of time’ when you can buy a new one with the same attributes? I love it when we embrace a more European sensibility on what is fashionable.

  2. Bar Carts – Thanks to Mad Men, cocktail hours are on the rise which is all the more reason to invest in a stellar serving piece…

3.  Hides & Camel Leather – Hides, hides & more hides! Everywhere I look, I see camel hued leather and unique hide applications. Leather accents work in just about any design scheme, just choose wisely so it becomes a permanent part of your home.

4.  All about that Brass – It appears brass is here to stay and it’s poised to dominate more market share this fall…so it may be time to bite the bullet and bring a piece or two home :)

5.  Natural Textures – I’m a huge fan of natural elements because they add an organic element to your design schemes.  Lots of cool new pieces are being added for this fall!

6. Global Design Elements – We all love a little originality in our design so all the more reason to incorporate global patterns and textures for a jolt of ingenuity!

Summer 2015 – Crazy Color Inspiration

Wow! Color explosion from all major retailers in 2015!  I know the economy is making a comeback and that usually means more color in the design industry but never has it been more evident than in this season’s outdoor furniture offerings!

Bold color, bright patterns and a general “Palm Beach” vibe makes me want to vacay in any of these lush photo shoots!

See below for my favorites so far :)

Spring is in the air! – Patio Inspiration

Last year, I finally moved into a place with an outdoor patio!  I was so excited and searched for things to fill the space.  However, the indoor rooms needed a bit more attention so instead I worked on those spaces.  Also, I found myself spending a great deal of time at the pool and less emphasis on the patio resulted.

However, 2015 is a new year and I’d really love to make that space an extension of my living space.  Here is a concept photo as well as a sketch of the space:

It’s not a huge space but I think I can maximize it’s potential :)

Love the Parisian bistro chairs!

This chaise/daybed from C&B would really make the space.  Extra seating for guests but a great place for me to curl up with my ipad and get inspired…I hope I can make this happen :)

I love how colorful (and affordable) outdoor area rugs are!  This is a great option to bring in my blue color scheme…

Fun patterns, yes?!

If I have space for this; I would love a little extra room to bring the bar outdoors…

Build A Room: New Modern Eclectic Living Room

I don’t know about you but after the holiday decorations get packed up, I quickly realize that I need (read: want) new furniture.  I’m on the hunt for a new sofa, specifically, and in typical designer fashion, there are too many styles which I love.

You may also be as challenged as I am to blend different design styles and in need of a little inspiration.  So, I decided to explore a few of my favorites along with other dream pieces to determine which direction I can take my living room (& yours!).  Hope this gets your journey started!  Feel free to visit me at Stash Home to make your dream a reality (or to vote on my sofa choice!).
