Hopefully, we’ve answered most of your questions below. Feel free to contact us if there is more you’d like to know!
Q: What does a consultation include?
A: The first option is our Consultation + Design Gameplan, which includes an assessment of your space with a detailed gameplan with solutions and suggestions for your design challenges that you can achieve on your own. See more on our menu of services.
Q: What does a design package include?
A: If you have a larger project which requires more design assistance, we’ll assess your needs and create a 3-tiered proposal offering you different levels of design services. These will all include a presentation and concept boards, along with allotted time for meetings and research. Each proposal is tailored to the client’s specific needs. See more on our menu of services.
Q: How long does a typical project take?
A: Actually, no project is “typical” because every client faces a different set of design challenges. We’re happy to work within your desired timeframe and will alert you as soon as we can if we see things taking longer than necessary.
Q: How do you charge?
A: There are three types of service levels, either a consultation + gameplan, design package or concierge level. See more on our menu of services.
Q: When are you available to meet?
A: We are available to meet days, evenings & weekends. We understand that our clients’ often work 40 hours a week so we are flexible when we can meet with you.
Q: What if I just need help with paint colors?
A: That would fall under the Consultation + Gameplan on our menu of services. Very rarely have we met with a client just to select paints as paint is one part of the entire design scheme. We will also make recommendations for other areas that you would like and we’ll follow up with paint specs and larger swatches of paint for your records.
Q: What if I need help arranging my existing furniture?
A: We’re happy to assist you with space planning. Often times a floorplan is needed in order to draw furniture layouts as well as dimensions of existing pieces. Depending upon the level of help needed, we may be able to help you arrange things onsite at the initial consultation.
Q: What do I need to do to prepare for our meeting?
A: We’d love it if you can help us by doing a little homework before we meet! A few simple things would be extremely time-saving at your consultation meeting. We’ve created a list (click here) for you to prepare. You can also reference our design style guide to get an idea of your style!
Q: What are your fees for travel?
A: We don’t charge for travel within the city of St. Louis for design meetings or errands. If your project is outside a 50 mile radius, our car travel charges are as follows:
0-50 miles = no charge
50-100 miles = $25 trip charge each way
100-200 miles = $75 trip charge each way
200-300 miles = $125 trip charge each way
over 300 miles = we will make alternate arrangements
Note: hotel & meal allowances will be charged for overnight stays out of town
Q: Will you work with my contractor or subcontractors? Do you have your own that you prefer?
A: We are more than willing to work with your professionals. If you need recommendations for contractors, etc, we are also willing to provide the names of ones we trust. Please note that we are not responsible for any company that we recommend and will not be held liable for their work.
